Solar panels generate electricity when they are exposed to sunlight, the more sunlight they get, the more electricity they will produce. This means that the orientation, pitch and size of your roof are all important factors.
The size of your roof will also dictate how many solar panels or tiles can be installed on your roof but solar panels can be fitted portrait or landscape to maximise the availability of your roof space.
South facing roofs offer the best location for any solar fit, but South east, east, south West and west are all still viable options, and we will advise you of the best options during our free consultation.
When considering your roof space, it is also important to consider surrounding houses, chimneys or trees that may cast a shadow over the roof space, as this may affect the performance of the PV panels.
